Emotional awareness. Your ability to recognize your own emotions and their effects.
Self-confidence. Sureness about your self-worth and capabilities.

You can, however, have some say in how long an emotion will last by using a number of techniques to alleviate negative emotions such as anger, anxiety or depression. A few of these techniques include recasting a situation in a more positive light, taking a long walk, and meditation or prayer. Self-regulation involves

Trustworthiness. Maintaining standards of honesty and integrity.

Whoever coined the phrase about how you can’t see the forest for the trees is an asshole… but also very wise. Going 0-7-1 in a night of betting is not only a ridiculous statistical improbability at less than a 1% chance, it is also a stiff kick to the EQ dick.

Nevertheless, you have to stay the course if you believe in the process. Or , “the process is fearless, because I don’t want to spend time on the outcome.” A slight edge over time with patience, persistence, and probability is an unstoppable force… should we call those the 3 Ps of the Process? Too many Ps? Alright, whatever, call it what you will. The point remains that if you crush the process the results will play out over time. That means letting rough stretches of games or improbable runs roll right off, and continuing to mind the small stuff while truly focusing on the big.
A better version of myself would not watch NBA games or follow the scores at all, really. Just add the results to the history books, refresh the data and move on, because his emotional reactions while watching would cloud his judgment.
