Q: What is Tribe Tourney Madness?
A: Well this is an obvious question. Tribe Tourney Madness (“TTM”) offers you and up to four friends (or “Tribe”) the ability to battle other Tribes over the three weeks of March Madness to earn your share of up to $1,000+ worth of prizes. It is FREE to enter, you can join at any time, and there are prizes available throughout the tournament! See further details in the .
Q: Who is eligible to join?
A: Anyone!... well, almost anyone. This is a free contest, but since this is a contest that simulates sports betting you must be at least 21 to enter. Please be sure to read our contest for more information.
Q: Okay, so how do I submit my bracket?
A: You don’t. TTM is gamifying the sports betting experience. We start you off with 1,000 units in your Contest Bankroll (this is not real money, so relax). Just like at your favorite online or land-based sportsbook, there are odds available on the three major betting markets (spreads, moneylines, and totals) that will update periodically prior to tip-off - check out if you are unclear on how these betting markets work. You can peruse the available odds in the Games & Action section, look at matchup details, and ultimately make your pick any time up to tip-off. Action gets graded in the hours after games end and watch your Contest Bankroll (hopefully) grow!
Q: Okay, I don’t mean to be greedy, but only 1,000 measly bucks to bet with? What is this, 1992?
A: That year seemed pretty arbitrary, but nevertheless we agree with you. So while you will start with 1,000 bucks in your Contest Bankroll, in addition to your winnings we will also add another 1,000 on Tuesday of each subsequent week in the tournament. AND as an incentive to working together in teams rather than alone, you get an extra 250 added for each additional member in your tribe resulting in a maximum of 2,000 added on 3/23/2021 and 3/30/2021.
Q: Got it, so I probably want a Tribe to be best positioned at winning. How do I form a Tribe?
A: Easy! After you sign-up or login to Betrics, you click “Enter Contest” and will see the option of either creating your own Tribe or joining an existing Tribe. Each Tribe can be Public (open to anyone to join up to 5 total people) or Private (password is required to join).
To create a new Tribe, just enter the Tribe name and, if Private, a password, then submit. To join a Tribe, just click on a Tribe from the list or use the search box if you know what you’re looking for, enter the password if necessary (for private Tribes), and join the fun!
Q: Do I need to have a Tribe to play this thing? I don’t want others slowing me down. I am a cheetah.
A: No. You can create a Tribe, make it private, keep the password under your mattress, and go at it alone. This is a completely acceptable strategy, especially since most prizes are shared amongst your Tribe. That said, you will only get 1,000 on each of the two subsequent bankroll add-ons and miss out on the extra 250 for each additional Tribe member, so it will be much harder to finish as the Top Tribe without getting those additional deposits.
Q: So what is the best strategy for me to win this thing?
A: The strategies are limitless. You like underdogs? Go take them and play the high-risk/high-reward game. Prefer to take the more measured approach? That works too. You can bet your full contest bankroll on one game if you want to let it ride, or you can make a series of smaller wagers. Just like wagering with any sportsbook, the options are yours. If you really want to get crazy, try out one of the Betting Systems that you can read up on in our Betrics University.
Q: How do I talk strategy with my Tribe?
A: The Chat button on the Tribe page includes both public and private chat currently, so just use the dropdown to select which audience you want and let the f-bombs fly (but keep it respectful). If you are looking for a larger community of users to engage with outside of just this contest, join our today and exchange value with other sports bettors and fans alike.
Q: How do I see my Tribe’s progress and where we stand in the contest?
A: First, you will likely be able to look up the leaderboard to see the Betrics Staff Tribe dominating. Next, you can see you and your Tribe’s pending and graded action on the Tribes page after clicking the “Wagers” button. Here you can view action for you individually or your whole Tribe by using the dropdowns. Lastly, the overall leaderboard will be active by the end of the first weekend of games and will be accessible through the “Leaderboards” page on the navigation dropdown. Additionally, you will be able to see leaders within your tribe in a similar fashion from the Tribes page at that point as well.
Q: Wait, were you just talking smack to us in an FAQ?
A: Yes.
Q: Ummm this area looks broken, I swear it wasn’t me. Is that normal?
Q: What happens if I win?
A: In addition to the praise you will inevitably receive within your household and community of fans, we will reach out to you via your email address provided with further details on how to receive your prize package. Rewards will be mostly monetary (cash/gift card), along with some prize packages including free access to Betrics Premium perks in the future.
A: Absolutely. We are currently in beta, so the reality is that we are counting on you and our Betrics Beta Community to help us identify bugs, annoyances, and other opportunities so that we can iterate with you to solve your unmet sports betting analysis needs. If you see something, please say something! Click in the navigation dropdown, we would love to hear from you!
